Announcing: SoJam High School Video Tournament!
We are pleased to announce a special opportunity for high school groups. We will be holding a tournament-style video contest on our website to select one High School group to kick off the festival and perform to open the collegiate competition.
Video submissions are due Sunday, Sept. 21 (11:59pm) – submit YouTube links to email@example.com. The online competition will take place Sept. 22-30. The selected group will be announced October 1.
High school groups are not required to buy passes prior to submitting to this qualifying tournament. The selected group will need to be prepared to purchase passes by midnight Oct. 2.
Collegiate Competition Submission Instructions
Groups are eligible to apply for the SoJam 2014 if they are made up entirely of full-time students OR are a recognized student group affiliated with a college of university and adhere to college/university student group bylaws. All questions about this rule should be directed to a SoJam producer.
SoJam is all about innovation so that’s what we want to see in your submission video. Please submit a brief recording of your group performing ONE song of your choosing to show us exactly what kind of innovation you will be bringing to the SoJam stage. Your submission must be a live performance and must consist of the current school year’s group members (2014-2015). Due to the earlier date of SoJam 2014 we will be allowing groups an opportunity to supplement their submission with a LIVE recording of the previous school year’s group (2013-2014). Please limit this supplement to ONE song. Hopefully this goes without saying, but all entries must consist of vocal music only. Please email your videos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to be considered for the SoJam 2014 Collegiate Competition ALL group members must purchase an All Access Pass. NO EXCEPTIONS.
A diverse selection of a cappella judges, experts, and enthusiasts will serve on the Selection Committee for SoJam 2014 and will choose the top 6 groups they would like to see perform in the Collegiate Competition. Neither the Competition Judges nor the SoJam producers are part of the Selection Committee to ensure as fair a competition process as possible.

Round 2: Where have you been? (4 groups)
In round two will begin the second half of the show. Your group will perform a 5 minute set to tell a bit of a story about your history. What have you been through? What has been important in shaping you to become who you are today etc? Only 2 groups will progress to the final round.
Round 3: Where are you going? (2 groups)
In the final head to head round we ask that you give the judges a glimpse of where you hope to head as a group. What is your trajectory? What can we expect to see from you moving forward?
