2013 Competition Format

Round 1 (6 groups)
This round serves as the ever-important first impression. You will have 9 whole minutes to show your best to the crowd and the judges, who will choose only 3 groups to progress to round 2.

Round 2 (3 groups)
In round two, your group will perform a 5 minute set that must reflect a specific theme. We will notify the groups of this theme after they have been selected for the competition. Only 2 groups will progress to the final round.

Round 3 (2 groups)
You have everyone’s attention, now tell us a story. Both groups will have 8 minutes to present their most compelling musical narrative. Whether its a tale of strength, love, confidence, struggle, or peace, make a meaningful connection to the audience and leave it all on the SoJam stage.

To the Victor, Goes the Spoils

Every group selected gets to perform at least one full set on the main stage at SoJam. What more could anyone want? Serious bragging rights. Eternal glory. And so much more.
